Planning Questions

Do parasols block the view of the ceremony?

When used thoughtfully, parasols provide shade without obstructing sightlines. If you're very concerned, you can include a small note asking guests to “shade with care so everyone can see.”

How many parasols should I provide?

Most hosts plan for 50–70% of guest count, depending on seating layout and sun direction. If your ceremony is in direct midday sun, you may want closer to full coverage.

Are handheld fans necessary if I provide parasols?

In peak heat, fans add airflow and noticeably improve comfort. Many hosts pair parasols with fans if they're expecting full sun exposure or stagnant heat.

What if I don’t want to invest in a tent?

Parasols and fans offer flexible, lower-commitment shade solutions when full tent coverage isn’t part of your setup.
