Long before the Great Gatsby Wedding Trend hit this year, Weather or Not was all over it! In July of 2012 we had the honor of working with Autumn Burke Photography, the Highlands Ranch Mansion, and the Little White Dress on a Gatsby-inspired photo shoot. Autumn Burke captured the stunning images seen below. The pictures speak louder than any words we could say but she has such a beautiful way of expressing her passion for photography..."My favorite photo is an old black & white of my parents taken when I was about three years old. In this photo, my parents are engulfed in an embrace, my mom's face buried in my dad's coat. Neither of them are focused on the camera, and from the angle you can hardly see my mom's face. But what grabs me is the emotion that is caught in that single captured moment. It speaks volumes. This is why I shoot. I love the real moments. The emotion, the unique details, the connections between people. I love telling a story in a single frame." 
The Highlands Ranch Mansion was the perfect fit for this photo shoot with its castle-like facade, rich history, and sprawling patios. So if you are looking for an event space to fit a Gatsby-inspired theme look no further! “The historic Highlands Ranch Mansion and future Historic Park stand today as valuable examples of history, reflecting the lifestyle of early settlers and early pioneers of the area now known as Highlands Ranch, Colorado. More than 100 years old, the historic Mansion has been home to some of Denver’s more notable families including cattle barons, oil tycoons, prominent Denver socialites, as well as political and business leaders who have helped create the Colorado we know today.” One of the issues that comes with wonderful outdoor spaces at a venue like this is weather. Offering guests items like parasols, fans, and fur-trimmed shawls accomplishes the task of comfort and protection while keeping with the overall feel of the venue. With the help of Autumn Burke and the Little White Dress Shop we were able to showcase just how lovely shawls, fans, and parasols can be in a Gatsby-inspired event.
