Styled Shoot | LVL Weddings & Events

Weather or Not was invited to participate in a summer style shoot coordinated by the fabulous LVL Weddings & Events. Their vision was simple yet alluring and truly inspirational. We were thrilled to be a part of the fun and are loving the photos! Thank you LVL Weddings & Events for asking Weather or Not to be a part of this one-of-a-kind experience.

‘The inspiration for the shoot started with a loose, edgy interpretation of ‘Colorado Boho Chic’...laser cut lace, skulls, antlers, marigold and oxblood blowers, the gorgeous diffused light at dusk, open prairies with flowering cacti, metal hair-pieces, etc. We wanted to push the envelope on the rustic theme that’s so popular right now. We wanted to edge it up a bit! We ultimately ended up with a true Colorado ranch feel with a little bit of rock and roll vibe. Kind of like two all American kids living the bohemian dream!

The venue, Chico Basin Ranch, is an actual working cattle ranch out in the prairie land near Colorado Springs. It consists of hundreds of acres of prairie, lakes, creeks, sagebrush, cacti and countless wildlife. We loved the feel of the sprawling flat prairie land covered in sagebrush and flowering cacti as the backdrop to the earthy vibe of the shoot.

The weather was hit and miss all day long...overcast in the morning...then the sun came out and it was scorching hot...the clouds rolled in later afternoon...we were stuck in the rain during set-up...the rain blew out and was replaced by the gorgeous Colorado sun flanked by moody clouds (perfect for photos!). The weather that day was perfect for Weather or Not’s products - everything from the umbrellas to the shawls to the heavier faux fur throws and turkish towels! This is the reason why all brides and grooms needs to consider Weather or Not when planning their wedding...you just never know what Mother Nature is going to throw at you and it’s imperative to be prepared for all...especially in Colorado! Thinking about your guests’ comfort goes such a long way in their eyes!’
